Below we have explained both ways to change the font size in the editing area, have a look:
- Double-click over the Notepad++ shortcut and launch it or you can find it through the Windows search feature.
- Now click on File from the top-left corner of the screen and then click on Open from the list of options. You will further get a preview of the changes.
- Further, for changing the text size by using the shortcut, press and hold the CTRL key and simultaneously scroll your mouse up and down, and it will increase and decrease the font size in the editor. Up scroll means the increased size, and down scroll means decreased size.
- Or navigate to the Notepad++ Settings menu from the vertical options and then click on Style Configurator.
- Now under the Font style section on the next screen, set different font styles and sizes for Notepad++. Further tick the checkbox for the options Enable global font size, and others for the changes you want to make.
Way 2: Changing Font Size for Tabs
In the previous versions of Notepad ++, the tab font is really small by default which gets difficult to read when the screen is big. However, for a clearer viewing experience, one can change the font size. For doing so, follow the steps given below:

- Now click on the Close button, and you will be able to see a different tab font now.
Way 3: Making Sure the Editor is Not Zoomed In or Out

- Now click on File from the top-left corner of the screen and then click on Open from the list of options. You will further get a preview of the changes.
- Now navigate to View from the horizontal top menu, select Zoom, and then click on the option Restore Default Zoom.
