The Witcher introduced a number of viewers around the world to Geralt of Rivia, Yennefer of Vengerberg, princess Ciri, and more, but the truly unexpected hit of the series was Jaskier and the song “Toss A Coin To Your Witcher” – and here’s how you can listen to it online. One of the most anticipated Netflix releases in 2019 was the fantasy drama The Witcher, based on the book series of the same name by Andrzej Sapkowski, and starring Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, a magically enhanced monster hunter known as a “witcher”.
Season 1 of The Witcher followed Geralt’s journeys from place to place, hunting different types of creatures, as well as the story of sorceress Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra) and that of Cintran princess Ciri (Freya Allan), whose paths ended up converging. The stories were told in a non-linear manner, which appealed to most viewers as it was an unexpected move and showed that the writers of the series trust their audience (as it relies on them to understand that the events are not happening chronologically). The Witcher also introduced viewers to Jaskier (Joey Batey), a traveling bard who joins Geralt on his journeys, even if the witcher didn’t want him to.
Jaskier was the one in charge of spreading the word about Geralt’s missions through his very catchy songs, and there’s one in particular that has been stuck in viewers’ heads for days: “Toss A Coin To Your Witcher”, which tells the events of the second episode. The best way to get a song out of your head is to listen to it again, so where can you find it online without having to look for it in the series?
Where You Can Listen To “Toss A Coin To Your Witcher” Online
Netflix is missing a big marketing opportunity by not releasing “Toss A Coin To Your Witcher”, but that hasn’t stopped fans from making their own versions and remixes, and even creating mods to patch the song into The Witcher video games. As a result, “Toss A Coin To Your Witcher” is not available on the biggest music platforms, like Spotify and iTunes, but there’s still a way to listen to it that doesn’t involve going back to The Witcher’s second episode. The song is available on the SoundCloud account of composers Sonya Belousova and Giona Ostinelli – and yes, it’s the same version from the series, sang by Joey Batey.
Belousova and Ostinelli have also shared three other songs from the series on their SoundCloud account: “Geralt of Rivia”, “The Song of The White Wolf”, and “The Last Rose Of Cintra”. Through her Instagram account, Belousova shared back in December that the official soundtrack of The Witcher is ready to go but it’s up to Netflix and whether they decide to release it or not. Luckily for those who are going through the “Toss A Coin To Your Witcher” syndrome, there’s a way to listen to it online until Netflix makes up its mind about The Witcher’s soundtrack.
